Weird Thoughts...

My latest today.Do check out...

So this is what happened today, while I was about to start writing. I wasn’t sure what to write about. Yes, I couldn’t think of a topic to explore. I mean that seldom happens, right? There were hundreds of topics I wanted to blabber about but all seemed inadequate. Or boring. And I thought I would keep on writing till it forms some kind of an essay and lead me to a direction. Wait a minute, not me; it would lead my piece to a direction. Of course there is a possibility to get lost but I was ready to gamble (Not that my money was on it).

So if you are reading it and finding a topic evolve out of it, trust me that was not on my mind when I started. But after gradual evolution of the random thoughts from the chaos of my mind, it has resulted into this collective inscription of the topic that it bears in its heart. If by this time you’re thinking about what the hell I am and have been talking about. Look no further, my abominable earthlings, you are in perfect sync with my thought process. To sum up; I to don’t have a hell of idea what I am blabbering about.

Actually, this is not exactly unplanned. See I thought I would explore this facet of writing one day. No this is not exactly bullshit (I thought that thought might have occurred to you). This piece is exactly not topic less.  The topic if you look clearly is topic-less-ness. I know that sounds shit. But having no fixed topic is quite invigorating and you should try it once. With no boundaries to speak on, it’s amazing how much the mind conjures up thoughts lying idle in the mind otherwise.

So at the end of this discussion I think this abstract state of writing with no topic at all is absolutely a brilliant topic to write about. Hope you like and share this piece. Quite a conversation I must say.

Cheerios!! Until next time…

Lost in the maze of translation...

My latest today.Do check out...
IndrajitPhotography

When you wake up, how do you perceive your day? The sun, the trees, the plants and peoples? Does the fresh air sucks everything bad, old and negative from you or is it just another day to go? Another mile to walk.

Your life is a gift and each moment of it is a perceived chance of opportunity. An opportunity to do something, for yourself. But how many do feel that way? How many of you take life as an adventure, a mission to live and breathe and enjoy each and every second that comes in the way. Not many I know. For most of the people it is living another day. A walk of an extra mile, just like yesterday.  For many, the only point of survival is the vision, the compliment of a third person; his or her own life as perceived by a third identity surrounding him or her.

Do you know any such person? I know someone very near to me… ME. Yes there has been times when I too have felt that my life is just as others tell me. Now it’s not quite simple to live as being said that live for oneself. I know that you got to take each day as it comes, but it slips sometimes. You try to transform, translate your lifestyle according to an external locus of identity. That differs from person to person. Hence you keep changing your lifestyle; your life. Until you are lost in the maze of your own identity. It’s hard sometimes to find the true you among the midst of fake faces you live. But that’s the challenge of life.
Discover, live and enjoy as long as you breathe.

So since I have been through, I know it’s hard. But if you are going through any such phases, trust me. It’s worth digging; because nothing is as beautiful as the original YOU. It’s priceless. It’s Limited Edition.

Of Vice and Men...

My latest today.Do check out...

So Telegana bill was passed yesterday. And there are celebrations as well as some depression in the minds of few people. Now all this can’t be just only from the political perspective, right? I mean when Atal Bihari Vajpayi was in charge, some new states did emerge but how does that change the overall well-being of Indians.  Maybe the power shifts from one hand to another and there may be an ebb or flow in the vote bank but then what else? How does it concur to the sovereign and democratic appearance of India. Breaking and dividing and ruling…come on that is so British Raj.

The pepper-spray may have flowed a bit too far and badly for the minister and the chaos in the house that not only brought the house down but also the world’s eyes on us showed that look we can’t keep our cockiness in our pants. But all this beyond, what are we doing to elevate our status in the world… Saare Jahaan se achcha… Oh! Sure.. But how?

The vote and the hullabaloo around it takes quite the pilot seat while people’s democracy and rights takes a back seat. From rigging the poll booths to buying MLAs; nothing is sacred. And I don’t have a political angle in this, mind you. I am just a regular civilian trying to see the world through my eyes. Nothing is sacred, that is what I find. In sports too, see how tumultuous affairs keep rocking the sports cradle. Be it the match fixing fiasco, IPL scam or Srini’s exit, entrance and actions… nothing is simple in this neo-age of 21st century.

Then there is Arsenic In the water of the under-developed areas that authorities reject to answer about, Kejriwals question against the governance and that Ambani dude has really got our concern. I mean what can a simple civilian thousand feet away from politics do; except for sit with a steaming cup of coffee and open his big blog world and do the regular chitter-chatter with his fellow blog-lings.

Adios Amigos, my friends….

An afternoon at Spur

My latest today.Do check out...

Hi guys hope you liked my pevious blog post ; my first hindi post. So this one is close to my heart even more because it's about my home-town Jalpaiguri. A very calm town in North Bengal with serene atmosphere where I grew up. So the poetry piece is based on the spur or the bund at the outer side of the town that is lined by the river Karala. Hope you like it. It's also my first photo post; All the images are taken by me on my cam-cell.Ain't pretty good, but workable. So here we go...

An afternoon at Spur

I sat rested at the old banyan tree,
Perched atop the stone strapped bund;
The winds caressing my hair, as it
Passed; the leaves rustled above.

As the sun in front of me, kissed the horizon,
Painted yellow with streaks of red, the sky.
The languid Karala, as though the sun melt;
Glistened like liquid gold, as it passed by.

Wetting the rocks as it strutted on them,
Landed few drops of shivers on my feet.
Like the egrets flying above to abode unknown,
Of unknown places, hidden secrets lie deep.

Far away few children laugh and play,
As household chores keeps their mother at bay;
The evening befalls on the faraway bridge,
Before my eyes, as nature calls it a day.

 So that's it. Hope you like my kala-curry of photo and words... Just keep reading..

Aam Bharatiya Naari...The Average Indian Women

My latest today.Do check out...

Hi guys  this is the first time I am posting a hindi poetry piece in my blog.Only the language is hindi, but the medium is in english. So I hope no one will have that much trouble to go through it once. The piece is on average indian women, their plight, place in the society; where they stand; it's also about the democracy that India wears so valiantly. But mostly it's my concern and questions in my head, the burden of being a man, the sex that bears the taboo, now, of being the violator of modesty of some other group of humans who have the same rights and privileges. Hope that wasn't too much...

Kuch alag dhang ke ,
Kapre  pehni nahi thi, naa hi
Raat gayi nikli thi gharse.
Par dekho toh kaisein uske,
Akelepanki lachari usi par
Padh gaya bhari.
Woh bhi thi ek
aam bharatiya nari.

Padhti thi Khabrein woh
Hum sab jaise hi har roj.
Shunthi thi sab hum jaisein hi
Socha nahi tha khud woh
Shikar hogi unn ki jispe
Rakh diya tha bharoshe ki dali
Woh bhi thi ek
aam bharatiya nari.

Kab tak chup rahenge hum log,
Aaj Nirbhaya toh kal koi aur,
Yeh zehereela saanp dasta jayega har kalko
Har koi sochta rehega, hum toh
Jeetein hain aam zindagi;
Humne kisiki kya hain bigari.
Woh bhi toh thi ek,
Aam bharatiya nari.
Woh bhi thi ek

 aam bharatiya nari.

This is an ode from the core of my heart to those women who had to go through tough times just for one reason. They were women.

INDIA:AAP se LSD tak....

My latest today.Do check out..

And the ordeal of 49 days ended. Some said it was a new beginning while some breathed life. Politicians like Arun Jaitley was quoted saying over Kejriwal’s resignation, the nightmare is finally over. So what’s your take on all of this? Do you literally think that a highlighted resignation can really bring a swipe change in the Jan-Lokpal bill or this over-rated and over-hyped fiasco is just a boost for the vote-Bank of AAP. Although I keep myself at bay from all the political transactions this is quite enigmatic even for a politically numb dhakkan like me . So I keep gazing at the stances of several political honchos at this step of the AAP General and I think what does it take to make such a happening happen. Or is it our biggest disaster of the year, apolitically speaking…

Talking about disasters, LSD got a new meaning few days back and pepper spray got enough attention when Lok Sabha encountered a street like act of spraying on account of sensing danger. I mean, elected candidates my foot. This LSD or Lok Sabha Disaster brings to our eyes the terrible condition of the country run by people elected by us. I mean that’s what happens to a car when driver doesn’t have bare minimum knowledge of gears and brakes. I mean recent Govt. exams suggest that Govt. needs only the best candidate which is why exams like UPSC have such a gruelling question setup. But what the nation forgot to put was a bare minimum qualification to run this country. As a result, a can of spray needs to act as an eye opener.

So what does you see in all of this? What is your take…. The best line probably was reserved for the inventor of the pepper spray. His take… Use ahimsa. That’s the best weapon. As Gandhi said…

Happy Valentine's blah..blah...blah..

My latest today.Do check out...

And the day of celebrating love, like it’s something special, has arrived and although it’s got nothing to do with St. Valentine; who by the way was named a Harlem globetrotter; let’s just say it Valentine’s Day. Don’t ask me why, because you don’t ask, when you celebrate Christmas, whether or not it’s Jesus’s legit birthday, do you now.
So here we are celebrating Valentine’s Day although, few would claim love to be eternal and every day is Valentine’s Day. But let’s cut the senile persons a slack and discuss the more pertinent question why do we? Are you asking the same question here? That means you too are a big bore like me who didn’t have a girl/boyfriend (I just generalised the term. For me its only girl; I swear) for life or a date for this day. Anyways, so here we are dissing those blissed in love, lets God Grace be upon us. But, if you could, just remind me why again the world is engaging in this ritualistic behaviour; I mean when some parts of the world is heavily under water, in another part millions of people sleep hungry the world wakes up for a bright red day.

And if I am not wrong, this is the biggest celebration of any of the hormonal secretion among the thousands of secretions that our body produces. Just a skipped beat and thousands of roses get plucked and millions of money goes haywire in the form of cards, chocolates or other goodies. My point is, is there really a point? I literally don’t get. Yeah, if you’ve not left before this point and continuing with my thought and also not inducted me into a hate club member then thank you. But it’s just that I don’t think a day can really be so over-hyped just because it is associated with an act that in the most basic form of it is the secretion of DOPAMINE. The same hormone that is released when we eat chocolates, listen to music and in few persons cases do drugs. I mean if someday I too have a girlfriend (and the prospects gets bleak with each passing day) I too would love her (that didn’t sound good did they!!!) But sorry, I won’t be able to indulge in a full-fledged ceremonial celebration of this day. Call me unromantic but I think I am realist.

But if you’ve plans today go ahead, no don’t think about what this lonely, only half-senile person just blurted in his blog cause love is in the air (and so are millions of germs and bacterias; but who cares) Happy valentine’s Day.

Until next time…

Retrospective- Some thoughts...

My latest today.Do check out...

In all retrospective the past few years of my life seems to be in a bizarre trajectory, the path had its own ups and downs but the curve can never be called a sinusoidal one; nope.  The part below the axis had much more preference than the part above. I think that’s with all of us here; thinking God didn’t give us our fair share of happy with the sad, ups with the downs and so and so. But in actuality, the toughest road seems to be the longest. The darkest night seems to be eternal.

But guess what we need to move on and let time heal our wounds; or rather put an inefficient bandage around so as to give us an assurance that it can be healed. After all not all loses can be redeemed in life and not all bets cashed. But I guess it’s a mutual feeling i.e. all feel the same. If we have here some minded people, can you sort me out something? How’d you feel if there is an opportunity lying for you that you can’t grab? Or you had leave your comfort zone, your niche because of someone else; someone near to you.

I guess it’s all philosophical and hypothetical for some but if you have been through the same ordeal I guess you feel the same void, the nothingness dwelling in your inner self. It’s strange how some days give you tiniest joys and make your day while some days all you are left with is your shadow that thins with each passing hour until raw darkness engulfs it leaving you dark and empty. Just like your inside

Do you ever feel that way?

On a brighter note my readership has buzzed way past the 2000 viewership mark and I thank all my readers who have taken turns and pains to go through this Junkyard of mine for scrapes of my thoughts. Here's to hoping that I keep writing more good stuffs and you keep coming for them more.Ciao.

 Until next time.

Republic and Public, the common man in this gala tradition...

My latest today.Do check out...

First of all I wish every Indian residents and Indian-at-heart a hearty and cheerfull Republic Day and hope that this 65th Republic day acts as a reminder of all the darkest hour we overcame to celebrate such an ornate occasion. ornate it is; effective... let's see.

Republic Day is the celebration of the Purna Swaraj or the full Independence and the transition of the power from the then rulers of the under-sieged India. The freedom, that lead us to using the Internet and get captivated and motivated by the western school thinking, was the full-throttle action and drama packed result of support from the common man, the Public. Yes the P is in the capital letters because it represents the most important  resource and usefull force of any country. It is also the main theme of the recent big blah! called Jai Ho!!! that Salman dedicates to his common fan but without the incluson of a bit of common sense in the film it is what Salman's recent films has all been; stupid and mindless. Any ways back to topic...

 The bills and orders passed are to conform the sociuety but I don't see any public in it. Nor does it effectively aids the common man neither the grudges and queries of common man being taken under scrutiny. Recently the rise of AAP (and phenomenal that is...) may assure some that the time of common man has come but then their looms the threat of power succumbing the urge to help the common. Also if you read the newspapers today, I hardly see the news that concerns common man... concerns maybe but relates no way...wild beasts rapes  and murders and lecherous beings takes advantages of the needy. The netas promises false and the police acts under the orders of high-ranking officials, agin a long-distance away from thecommon man. In the words of mathematics, these orders of supposedly public benefit are normal to the gains of these netas and perpendicular to the needs of the aam janta, Mango People...

But not withstanding the fact that large and dark forces always have tried to take over the grass-root concept of the society, we still are. The democracy is by us no matter whatever the days suggests and we shall vote no matter how ineffective and back-lashing the ungli-tika be. Because hum hain rahi intezar ke... and no matter whatever Kilo-Newton of force tries to dominate us We shall over-come. But the fact that the common man is ignored in the various walks of life is not a new but an age-old tradition strting from the initiation of this prosperous event. Did you know, August 15 was chosen y Lord Mountbatten who didn't bother about the fact that in 1930 the congress had chosen January 26 as its day for Poorna Swaraj. Interestng ain't it.
 ANyways you keep on enjoying the feast and the holiday that you have planned and if you are any inch of a posseser of the dhak-dhak heart do consider giving me an invitation and don't ignore the comon public like me.Sorry for the self call. Anyways Happy Republic Day again...

Psst... Did you know that our West Bengal CM Hon'ble Mamata Banerjee was not so happy with this hangingly long event being stretched so far and has requested the Governor to curtail it for a shorter period. Raised eyebrows anyone...

HAIKU-Expressions on words...

My latest today.Do check out...

Haiku is the Japanese art form of poetry that follows (not always necessarily...) the pattern of 5-7-5 formation. Seems simple but is an exquisite and bit sweat-wrenching at times; especially for me, to describe something or telling a story in the constraint of words... And to think this is the first time I am trying my hand on soemthing like this.

But here it is, a montage of thoughts of a girl; in the modern world. Hope you connect and feel.

H#1
He smiled at her, she
felt the tinge in his eyes that
commanded her presence without uttering.

H#2
She acknowledged him for everything
He did, but she felt shackled for
all his favours that sympathised.

H#3
Few could revolt the benefactor,
and its curling embrace, pushing the dignity
Perspiration of hesitation, skipped beats;

H#4
She pressed her hand against
his lips, she denied to be his.
She longed freedom once again.

Ok so this felt so stupid but ten once again what to hidethoughts from my pen-friends right?!! So please do comment let me know like and possibly connect with it. it would inspire me to do more such pieces.

DON'T READ!!!!! You may start thinking....

My latest today.Do check out...

When I started out as a newbie to the world of blogging I had many things to say (or so I thought) and I was super excited to exhibit the penmanship inside me to the whole world. With initial hiccups and no such colour coded books as Blogging for dummies or etc. I started what was to be a perilous journey of fulfilling the commitment made to oneself. And I am sure like me many of my reader friends will agree it is quite tough to fill the blank page with a substantial amount of words if you are not being natural. But anyways here I am and am doing it. So fingers crossed.

But anyways this is not what I wanted to share with you; what I indeed wanted to tell you was thaty, I started with lots of enthusiasm as had everyone else had. And eager I was to let many of friends, colleagues (sounds good…eh) and known, half-known or sometimes partially known relatives know about this new past-time/ hobby of mine. I was ready for all the field questions and briefed myself with all the techie  questions but one of the first and most common question I received was “Why do you blog?” or rather what is the need to blog. Well this was a conundrum for me because I was just letting myself out and not having any specified goals as to reach somewhere through this. SO I made it clear to people, who also thought that I was getting paid to do a job.

Once clear they appreciated my effort and took interest (some.. not all) and some went on to read few of my post. They came back and decided that I do indeed have a talent. So the common question that they deduced from all this proceeding was, why wasn’t I doing something with all this shit? Why am I letting it rot inside me not taking into another level? Making it big? I scratched my head and thought for a minute (That can sometimes be like a fake orgasm… only effort leading to nothing but frustrations..) anyways, so I came back with this unique answer.(Unique because I didn’t think I could come-up with such a nice bullshit)

So I told them, suppose you run in the morning or in the evening, to stay fit. Just for fun. And this you can call hobby or recreation, passion or pastime. And slowly you decide you are better than the national award winner sprinter in your colony. Would you still do it just to unwind; or you would straighten up your collar, bend your feet and get going? I don’t know, Blogging for me is something I have in me that I let out through writing, unwinding like some people like to swim or some play tennis. So turning it a pro job is like really taking the magic out of the game. What do you think guys….

Masquerade....

My latest today.Do check out...
A poetry piece on the act of covering up the real emotions of life; of the pretentious facet of our life...
Dedicated to all those who do so....

Even memories now, start to vanish;
Only faint shadows of you now play
In the mind; you have left me a while ago,
But the heart was for long away;
Just a cold face was there; to greet
Me/ in the morning with fake smiles.
Or was it just a pretentious mask,
I wonder how we walked all this miles.
Hand in hand, all we shared;
All a lie, everything you said…
I trusted you, or maybe the mask;
All my life was a masquerade.

I walk back, slowly turn;
To memory lane, I return.
I look back, all looks cursed;
Distance crossed, paths traversed.
I find myself, all sad and lost
Among the crowds, cheery faces host.
I realize the pain hidden;
I discover the mask again.
I see you coming, I am scared to fall
Past experiences, warnings call.
So I too put a mask on face;
Like a cold veil, expressions lost in maze.

 I used to think, why the world looked aloof?
But now being alive is a different state.
Hereafter I realize I was left out;

This whole world has been a masquerade.

Hope you connected with it..

The Last page of my NOTEBOOK...

My latest today.Do check out...

Today I am going to be a little offbeat. Maverick, if you may but no; not that much off-beat. But little out of the line and I am going to share with you something of my private life. It's common to many people I am sure and I trust many of you have done it yet it is private to me as that was private to you. I admit it' getting mushy and confusing but once I let youknow what it is , you will connect to it. And here I am not talking about the studious ones but the imaginative, creative square pigs in round holes, the misfits who create their own montage of life. The last benchers who never raise their hands but may as well store the capacity to awe the teacher.The choreographers of surprise.

But before I return to the main topic I must admit, I am here at Kolkata, an it's really very cold tonight. And as my figers are getting stiff I deduce one thing for sure, the speed of writing is directly proportional to the temparature. The less it is , the other is too. (I am not sure about the upper scale though... #facepalm ) Anyways lets cut this bullshit and get straight to the point.(Sounds cool... ain't it.)

You might have understood  from the name of the post (Which you just checked again, now) that it has got something to do with a notebook. But what I will tell has got to do with not only me but many of you readers as well (Technically non-readers too). Being a un-mindfull student I doodled at the side of my notebook. And I am sure you too have done hat at some point of tme. When later I turn the  pages, now, and the school notebooks reveal all my un-mindfull arts, those make me nostalgic as they bring back all the memories of my past classes, teachers friends and lectures. I wasn't the coolest kid in school nor was the smartest one at college. So whatever I did had to do strictly with me and remained forever so. And if you too ahve doen that at soenm point of tiem you too will understand that those were silly, stupid stuffs that we all carried with us and called them personal.

BUT.. the real stuff was what I did at my last page. And for that matter that second or third last page of the notebook. Poetry, poems, lyrics of all sorts. Stupid, mindless and so rhythm-less that even crows get scared. But nevertheless I would write them and still am used to. Those really transfer to an elegant past. And when I turn the pages as if I am returning to that past. I am sure you too have donethat if you were a back bencher at some point of time. And memories do make you smile. It's such a surprise or shock if you may that we have come so long a way from that time, from that state; because no one I am sure no one of us thought we will. That was my world. That was the time I thought time have stopped for me and that future was the next day or the next week after the tests are complete. Now as I step into the hard cold world and the chilled air pinches me to reality I too feel like going back to my days of doodling; when the last page of my notebook stored some fantasy for me...

Hope you enjoyed this little trip to memory lane...

Untill next time...

Why Join a BLOG FORUM??...

My latest today.Do check out...

Many a times the things we love to do are the stuffs that others  turn their faces off from. Although work driven by love doesn't need an alternate fuel yet sometimes the feeling creeps in to share the topics, discuss the matters and hnagout with people of the same mindset. Be it on real life or online. The scenario is pretty much same everywhere and irrespective of any individual. And although blogs ca sometimes be very personal stuffs yet we do intend to find someone or hope to stumble upon the one person who would be like minded enough to  understand our mind set...

Well, well BLOG FORUMS is the destination you are heading to; if that's your case.. With thousands of people hooked and tuned to the same URL and same topic it's like a melee of same thought. A blog forum can be a very useful tool and an experience in itself.

When I first started out, there were specific goals set at my heart and I thought traffic would be generating from my first post itself. But that idnot happen. And  I was confused. Even though I was online but so was millions of other people who wished the same. So?!! I then came over this very usefull platform to share blogs and pieces that you share with the world.... WriteUp Cafe... ANd indeed not only did I see an increase in traffic but alo I founf friends who gave me tips and encouraged me in my endeavou. Now that's a bonus cherry on a cream-pie. And now I am aprolific memberof two well known forums, WUC and IndiBloggers.

So here it is . All who wondered why join a forum when I am self-sufficed to write; the key follows (Hope I am not making it either too boring or dramatic)....

Firstly, the key point as I already discussed you get to meet like minded people and that's a boost in itself. When you are writing about any topic from on part of a country and then you come to know about enthusiasts from different part of the world sharing and discussing the same pieces you automatically gnereate a confidence and feel connected.

Secondly, Experience. You might be a newbie but there are people who are doing the stuff for years or perhaps decades. So when a pro gives you tips or criticizes ou; you know you have a genuin shre of pot of gold.

Thirdly, SEO, HTML, php are some of he words that used to give me jitters when I startde. As it happens I maybe a tech-user but I am not techno-cool, per-se. So I was lost in the maze of binary untill one of my online friend sorted stuffs out for me while another shared the synonyms of these alien lingo. Now it's cool as Ubuntu, babe...

And lastly, Well you sure can't disagrre to this. A bit of publicity is like salt to diet. SO when you sign up to such forums you get noticed and traffic becomes terrific. Your blog becomes famous and you become cool.

So these are mainly the reasons I joined the forums. There are thousands of forums out there; two links to such list are given underneathe. Do visit. And as I always say, keep reading.
