Republic and Public, the common man in this gala tradition...

My latest today.Do check out...

First of all I wish every Indian residents and Indian-at-heart a hearty and cheerfull Republic Day and hope that this 65th Republic day acts as a reminder of all the darkest hour we overcame to celebrate such an ornate occasion. ornate it is; effective... let's see.

Republic Day is the celebration of the Purna Swaraj or the full Independence and the transition of the power from the then rulers of the under-sieged India. The freedom, that lead us to using the Internet and get captivated and motivated by the western school thinking, was the full-throttle action and drama packed result of support from the common man, the Public. Yes the P is in the capital letters because it represents the most important  resource and usefull force of any country. It is also the main theme of the recent big blah! called Jai Ho!!! that Salman dedicates to his common fan but without the incluson of a bit of common sense in the film it is what Salman's recent films has all been; stupid and mindless. Any ways back to topic...

 The bills and orders passed are to conform the sociuety but I don't see any public in it. Nor does it effectively aids the common man neither the grudges and queries of common man being taken under scrutiny. Recently the rise of AAP (and phenomenal that is...) may assure some that the time of common man has come but then their looms the threat of power succumbing the urge to help the common. Also if you read the newspapers today, I hardly see the news that concerns common man... concerns maybe but relates no way...wild beasts rapes  and murders and lecherous beings takes advantages of the needy. The netas promises false and the police acts under the orders of high-ranking officials, agin a long-distance away from thecommon man. In the words of mathematics, these orders of supposedly public benefit are normal to the gains of these netas and perpendicular to the needs of the aam janta, Mango People...

But not withstanding the fact that large and dark forces always have tried to take over the grass-root concept of the society, we still are. The democracy is by us no matter whatever the days suggests and we shall vote no matter how ineffective and back-lashing the ungli-tika be. Because hum hain rahi intezar ke... and no matter whatever Kilo-Newton of force tries to dominate us We shall over-come. But the fact that the common man is ignored in the various walks of life is not a new but an age-old tradition strting from the initiation of this prosperous event. Did you know, August 15 was chosen y Lord Mountbatten who didn't bother about the fact that in 1930 the congress had chosen January 26 as its day for Poorna Swaraj. Interestng ain't it.
 ANyways you keep on enjoying the feast and the holiday that you have planned and if you are any inch of a posseser of the dhak-dhak heart do consider giving me an invitation and don't ignore the comon public like me.Sorry for the self call. Anyways Happy Republic Day again...

Psst... Did you know that our West Bengal CM Hon'ble Mamata Banerjee was not so happy with this hangingly long event being stretched so far and has requested the Governor to curtail it for a shorter period. Raised eyebrows anyone...

HAIKU-Expressions on words...

My latest today.Do check out...

Haiku is the Japanese art form of poetry that follows (not always necessarily...) the pattern of 5-7-5 formation. Seems simple but is an exquisite and bit sweat-wrenching at times; especially for me, to describe something or telling a story in the constraint of words... And to think this is the first time I am trying my hand on soemthing like this.

But here it is, a montage of thoughts of a girl; in the modern world. Hope you connect and feel.

H#1
He smiled at her, she
felt the tinge in his eyes that
commanded her presence without uttering.

H#2
She acknowledged him for everything
He did, but she felt shackled for
all his favours that sympathised.

H#3
Few could revolt the benefactor,
and its curling embrace, pushing the dignity
Perspiration of hesitation, skipped beats;

H#4
She pressed her hand against
his lips, she denied to be his.
She longed freedom once again.

Ok so this felt so stupid but ten once again what to hidethoughts from my pen-friends right?!! So please do comment let me know like and possibly connect with it. it would inspire me to do more such pieces.

DON'T READ!!!!! You may start thinking....

My latest today.Do check out...

When I started out as a newbie to the world of blogging I had many things to say (or so I thought) and I was super excited to exhibit the penmanship inside me to the whole world. With initial hiccups and no such colour coded books as Blogging for dummies or etc. I started what was to be a perilous journey of fulfilling the commitment made to oneself. And I am sure like me many of my reader friends will agree it is quite tough to fill the blank page with a substantial amount of words if you are not being natural. But anyways here I am and am doing it. So fingers crossed.

But anyways this is not what I wanted to share with you; what I indeed wanted to tell you was thaty, I started with lots of enthusiasm as had everyone else had. And eager I was to let many of friends, colleagues (sounds good…eh) and known, half-known or sometimes partially known relatives know about this new past-time/ hobby of mine. I was ready for all the field questions and briefed myself with all the techie  questions but one of the first and most common question I received was “Why do you blog?” or rather what is the need to blog. Well this was a conundrum for me because I was just letting myself out and not having any specified goals as to reach somewhere through this. SO I made it clear to people, who also thought that I was getting paid to do a job.

Once clear they appreciated my effort and took interest (some.. not all) and some went on to read few of my post. They came back and decided that I do indeed have a talent. So the common question that they deduced from all this proceeding was, why wasn’t I doing something with all this shit? Why am I letting it rot inside me not taking into another level? Making it big? I scratched my head and thought for a minute (That can sometimes be like a fake orgasm… only effort leading to nothing but frustrations..) anyways, so I came back with this unique answer.(Unique because I didn’t think I could come-up with such a nice bullshit)

So I told them, suppose you run in the morning or in the evening, to stay fit. Just for fun. And this you can call hobby or recreation, passion or pastime. And slowly you decide you are better than the national award winner sprinter in your colony. Would you still do it just to unwind; or you would straighten up your collar, bend your feet and get going? I don’t know, Blogging for me is something I have in me that I let out through writing, unwinding like some people like to swim or some play tennis. So turning it a pro job is like really taking the magic out of the game. What do you think guys….

Masquerade....

My latest today.Do check out...
A poetry piece on the act of covering up the real emotions of life; of the pretentious facet of our life...
Dedicated to all those who do so....

Even memories now, start to vanish;
Only faint shadows of you now play
In the mind; you have left me a while ago,
But the heart was for long away;
Just a cold face was there; to greet
Me/ in the morning with fake smiles.
Or was it just a pretentious mask,
I wonder how we walked all this miles.
Hand in hand, all we shared;
All a lie, everything you said…
I trusted you, or maybe the mask;
All my life was a masquerade.

I walk back, slowly turn;
To memory lane, I return.
I look back, all looks cursed;
Distance crossed, paths traversed.
I find myself, all sad and lost
Among the crowds, cheery faces host.
I realize the pain hidden;
I discover the mask again.
I see you coming, I am scared to fall
Past experiences, warnings call.
So I too put a mask on face;
Like a cold veil, expressions lost in maze.

 I used to think, why the world looked aloof?
But now being alive is a different state.
Hereafter I realize I was left out;

This whole world has been a masquerade.

Hope you connected with it..

The Last page of my NOTEBOOK...

My latest today.Do check out...

Today I am going to be a little offbeat. Maverick, if you may but no; not that much off-beat. But little out of the line and I am going to share with you something of my private life. It's common to many people I am sure and I trust many of you have done it yet it is private to me as that was private to you. I admit it' getting mushy and confusing but once I let youknow what it is , you will connect to it. And here I am not talking about the studious ones but the imaginative, creative square pigs in round holes, the misfits who create their own montage of life. The last benchers who never raise their hands but may as well store the capacity to awe the teacher.The choreographers of surprise.

But before I return to the main topic I must admit, I am here at Kolkata, an it's really very cold tonight. And as my figers are getting stiff I deduce one thing for sure, the speed of writing is directly proportional to the temparature. The less it is , the other is too. (I am not sure about the upper scale though... #facepalm ) Anyways lets cut this bullshit and get straight to the point.(Sounds cool... ain't it.)

You might have understood  from the name of the post (Which you just checked again, now) that it has got something to do with a notebook. But what I will tell has got to do with not only me but many of you readers as well (Technically non-readers too). Being a un-mindfull student I doodled at the side of my notebook. And I am sure you too have done hat at some point of tme. When later I turn the  pages, now, and the school notebooks reveal all my un-mindfull arts, those make me nostalgic as they bring back all the memories of my past classes, teachers friends and lectures. I wasn't the coolest kid in school nor was the smartest one at college. So whatever I did had to do strictly with me and remained forever so. And if you too ahve doen that at soenm point of tiem you too will understand that those were silly, stupid stuffs that we all carried with us and called them personal.

BUT.. the real stuff was what I did at my last page. And for that matter that second or third last page of the notebook. Poetry, poems, lyrics of all sorts. Stupid, mindless and so rhythm-less that even crows get scared. But nevertheless I would write them and still am used to. Those really transfer to an elegant past. And when I turn the pages as if I am returning to that past. I am sure you too have donethat if you were a back bencher at some point of time. And memories do make you smile. It's such a surprise or shock if you may that we have come so long a way from that time, from that state; because no one I am sure no one of us thought we will. That was my world. That was the time I thought time have stopped for me and that future was the next day or the next week after the tests are complete. Now as I step into the hard cold world and the chilled air pinches me to reality I too feel like going back to my days of doodling; when the last page of my notebook stored some fantasy for me...

Hope you enjoyed this little trip to memory lane...

Why Join a BLOG FORUM??...

My latest today.Do check out...

Many a times the things we love to do are the stuffs that others  turn their faces off from. Although work driven by love doesn't need an alternate fuel yet sometimes the feeling creeps in to share the topics, discuss the matters and hnagout with people of the same mindset. Be it on real life or online. The scenario is pretty much same everywhere and irrespective of any individual. And although blogs ca sometimes be very personal stuffs yet we do intend to find someone or hope to stumble upon the one person who would be like minded enough to  understand our mind set...

Well, well BLOG FORUMS is the destination you are heading to; if that's your case.. With thousands of people hooked and tuned to the same URL and same topic it's like a melee of same thought. A blog forum can be a very useful tool and an experience in itself.

When I first started out, there were specific goals set at my heart and I thought traffic would be generating from my first post itself. But that idnot happen. And  I was confused. Even though I was online but so was millions of other people who wished the same. So?!! I then came over this very usefull platform to share blogs and pieces that you share with the world.... WriteUp Cafe... ANd indeed not only did I see an increase in traffic but alo I founf friends who gave me tips and encouraged me in my endeavou. Now that's a bonus cherry on a cream-pie. And now I am aprolific memberof two well known forums, WUC and IndiBloggers.

So here it is . All who wondered why join a forum when I am self-sufficed to write; the key follows (Hope I am not making it either too boring or dramatic)....

Firstly, the key point as I already discussed you get to meet like minded people and that's a boost in itself. When you are writing about any topic from on part of a country and then you come to know about enthusiasts from different part of the world sharing and discussing the same pieces you automatically gnereate a confidence and feel connected.

Secondly, Experience. You might be a newbie but there are people who are doing the stuff for years or perhaps decades. So when a pro gives you tips or criticizes ou; you know you have a genuin shre of pot of gold.

Thirdly, SEO, HTML, php are some of he words that used to give me jitters when I startde. As it happens I maybe a tech-user but I am not techno-cool, per-se. So I was lost in the maze of binary untill one of my online friend sorted stuffs out for me while another shared the synonyms of these alien lingo. Now it's cool as Ubuntu, babe...

And lastly, Well you sure can't disagrre to this. A bit of publicity is like salt to diet. SO when you sign up to such forums you get noticed and traffic becomes terrific. Your blog becomes famous and you become cool.

So these are mainly the reasons I joined the forums. There are thousands of forums out there; two links to such list are given underneathe. Do visit. And as I always say, keep reading.

Visceral Views.....

My latest today.Do check out...

Ok, So 2014 has arrived with much grandeur and everyone has  welcomed it like a teenaage birthday.... so what's so special about this year. What makes it more interesting than last year? To some people this year stands for a new oppurtunity, in their own fields whle some is getting committed others are breaking free (whatever that means..) and others are looking forward to a new chapter in life. Some are going to travel to some exotic places whie others are going to settle in a place. SO this year specially the start marks  something exciting for everyone and everyone is looking for some jubillant way to make this year more exciting and memorable.

Well for me; since I am a strong foodie and a hardcore movie-buff, the start can't be bigger and better. First Kolkata opens a new mall aquite exotic one to that; Quest mall, which I have just seen pictures and plan to visit soon. Also Park strret opened a new cafe Aww Bon Pain.... (It gave way to the iconic music world, that's a loss) But let's look towads a sunny side. SO this are my priority spots to visit.

And now from my view point..literally. First, today marks the re-release of SHOLAY, the magnum-opus of Bollywood in 3-D format. I hope it creates as much buzz as it did for the 2-D version. ANd just when you think it can't bigger...

AXN opens the starting episode of the third season of SHERLOCK... yes the widely acclaimed, hugely popular and crazily followed TV show (actually of BBC) that paused for almost a pair of years only to resume with the highly critical Doyle's chapter The empty House. Only the episode is called The Empty Hearse... a pun for the 'House'. Moriarty is dead and so was Sherlock but then we saw him amidst the wood. What is the mystery? We will sure come to know. The rumours are really doin the rounds of internet and buzz is strong. "Elementary.." Ain't it...
