BOLLYWOOD--A Story UNTOLD!!!! #1

My latest today.Do check out...

Indian Cinema just crossed 100 years since it's inception and from the very first time it was enriched with the very filmi flavor that has come to be known as Bollywood-y to whole world. From Raja Harischandra by Dada Saheb Phalke to the latest and ever becoming silver screen fantasies, the coming of the edge films. Everywhere you see there is a stint of a color, palette of joy a song or a dance sequence that changes a mood and brings a smile or a thought. Even though fresh hordes of directors are creating ripples with their own style of cinema but Bollywood is still a small place of films larger than life, laden with  music; a brief period of grandeur beyond; or sometimes with it, reality.

But I won't talk about it. It is much talked about. Neither I am going to talk about the very stuff that creates the vivid image of Bollywood to all the fans out there. Instead I am going to speak about the less told characters present in every film. The characters that make others shine by shadowing there towering presence or veiling it under their anti-behavior. Yes the villains. The anti-character. The antagonist or the anti hero. Whatever you call it you can never deny the fact that it is the villains that bring spice to the other wise sweet little romance. The sauce to the tastiest snacks. They say, a hero is as big as the villains makes him. So yes they are unarguably the biggest asset of a motion picture, but incidentally they were, and in some cases still now too, being side lined with little or no fame. You can see that Bollywood has transformed itself into the very uber-chic avatar and it has curtailed many cliches that were once a very conjugal part of cinema. The boring dialogues, the stupid boy meets girl story or the hunky dory song and dance routine. The hero essentially need not to be a male protagonist, something unthinkable in the 90s or movies even after that. The normal theology of a damsel in distress saved by a handsome princely looking guy was the very foundation of Bollywood.

Yet, the new age is breaking and fixing the thought to shape Indian Cinema to fit the  demand of international fans. But still one thing has remained same throughout the Bollywood tag. The villain. The part that always brought hate, wrong messages and bad behavior with them.

Stay tuned for more as the discussion gets hotter in the next post with some of the hottest personalities who have dazzled the silver screen with their on screen persona..only negative that is. And a lieu of very popular dialogues and lines that rocked the nation and were mouthed by a villain. Don't leave the blog-site. It gets more fun from here.

Hey!!! Happy reading.
