Nirbhaya Divas-The Day India stood still

My latest today.Do check out...

The black day has arrived once again. However we may not want it. However we try to forget it try to cover up with amenities, the dipping chill, and the oncoming celebrations nothing; nothing covers up the fact that on this day humanity bowed out of society after being ruthlessly kicked and the India woke up to a black day although the sky was clear. India lost its innocence. The trial has ended and justice has been served. But has the circumstances has never been just. The helpless father was quoted today in a leading daily as “our tears have not dried.” And how can they be? Like a captain who has won a far fledged war raged against him only after losing his beloved army.

The question is what did we learn from it? As the season of celebration approaches us we bring out our merry side to be a part of the fall but the fall in the character of the beings (Human or not) really makes one curious as to what are the possibility of recovery when the process is this slow. The count of complaints against such actions must have gone up. The speedy trials ensure that there is still hope lingering somewhere like a silver lining. But the number of cases, be it molestations, rape or lewd actions whatever suits you; I personally call all of them outrage of modesty; has not lessened rather has an encouraging increase, sticking the silver lining to a far-fetched cloud. One only hopes a new day may bring a new conscience. The papers did no less in bringing out the news in all forms and formats available, kudos to that. But what really makes this heinous crime seep into the deep crevices of humanity even after the punishment being so close to a capital one. God knows. Maybe it’s the hormones, but that would simply imply that all men have carnal characteristics and they can’t keep their feelings inside their er… pants!!!

But I can only hope we keep being alert and move with awareness. And if you can, try to think about the girl and what happened to the tormentors. There is still judiciary in this country. On this note, I have previously written an article bearing the same topic and theme. The site URL is pasted here. Do visit.

It has a poem etched by me. The post is named RIR! Oh unfortunate. Yes, RIR and not RIP. Because peace we can’t afford. But just Respect. Wish she rests in respect. Amen to that.
